Georgia Man Believed to Be Behind Several Illegal Video Poker Ops.
Ten web casino machines were seized in a raid in Rincon, Georgia on Friday night. Four Beaufort residents were arrested.
The web casino machines, which featured video poker, were found at the Nine Ball Billiards retailer and pool hall on Interstate Georgia 21 in Rincon at around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
David Kirkpatrick, 41, of 1006 Pecan St. in Burton, is believed to be the owner and operator of the web casino machines. He was charged with felony commercial gambling for running the web casino operation. Three players, all in their late 40s or 50s, were also arrested and charged with playing the web casino machines.
Kirkpatrick is believed to be involved in the operation of two additional web casino machine operations that were raided recently.
In December, the police seized eight illegal machines the Burton pool hall Amusement Services of the Low country. On the same day, the police also raided The Coffee Shop in Port Royal, and another 11 machines were seized.
If the court indeed finds that he was involved in all of the operations, Kirkpatrick may be prosecuted under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act of 1970, or RICO laws.
