Australian Woman Steals From Employer to Play Casino Game Machines
An Australian former employee of the Bendigo Bank has been accused of defrauding her former employee out of more than $7 million, which she used to play casino game machines.
Kate Jamieson, 38, of Lalor, said that she went to Melbourne’s Crown Casino two or three times a week to play casino game machines with the money that she had stolen from her employer. Jamieson spend up to $20,000 at a time to play casino game machines each time she visited. Her favorite games were the $1 poker machines.
“I would generally lose it all or, if I won, spend it next time I was there,” Jamieson told the police investigators who questioned her.
Jamieson said that she started to play casino game machines even more heavily when the Crown Casino offered her a VIP membership, giving her free meals, hotel stays, trips to sporting events, and limousine rides.
“I was totally seduced by this because it was a side of life I had never seen before,” she said.
The former loans officer started to take out loans in the names of made- up people in order to get more money to play casino game machines.
