Video Poker Rules

When it was first launched, Video poker machines were a gaming revolution – bringing together the concept of online slots gaming and traditional table poker. However, in actual fact, VP simply went back in history and re-packaged the idea that slot games should be played with real card hands and poker combinations. It’s vital to remember that while video poker machines use slot gaming interfaces and chunky buttons for high speed gaming – there are no spinning reels and the electronic cards are dealt from a computerised pack.

Video poker rules are extremely simple, allowing every level of online gamer to enjoy the web’s most thrilling and rewarding game:

  • Select a wager value (each game has specific min and max wager limits)

  • Click ‘Deal’ to start the round

  • Analyse your hand

  • Click the cards you wish to Hold

  • Click ‘Draw’ to replace your discarded cards with fresh ones

  • The machine analyses your hand and pays out if you have a winning poker hand

Thanks to the simplicity of video poker simply – it’s impossible to break the rules. At a basic level you can play the game as you would a slot machine…..just click and see if you match a winning hand. Many advanced VP games enable you to automate your skill, and will automatically highlight which cards to hold.

Some cutting-edge video poker interfaces also have a gamble rule. Essentially, the gamble function launches after every win – enabling you to boost your win with a 50:50 ‘select a card’ gamble game. This is high risk – but potentially very rewarding. The best VP machines also have multi-hand options, permitting you to game with up to 100 hands per play!
